Playa La Bocana is a very rustic surfers beach replete with many sea birds of all types. It is the place where the Copalita River flows into the Pacific and consequently is a great place for fishing. This beach is a short cab ride away to a quiet little town with a couple of restaurants viewing the waves. The beach is flat and easy to walk on , many rocky outcroppings make for good photos. While sitting on the rocks or in the restaurants you can watch the pelicans diving for fish, most times with success .

Dec 2022. Some of the Huatulco beaches are small and quite sheltered. Playa la Bocana is a great alternative if you want space to walk, view bird life, or have some time on your own. The services are more limited than in town but there are two restaurants with seating. Written December 25, 2022.
